From backup fullback to NRL Dally M
Overthinking, holding back, not fully using his voice to now one of Rugby Leagues Elites.
Nicho was at Melbourne buying his time waiting for his first opportunity.
He got it but was then shortly put back to reserve grade. This happened for a few years but was able to express his talents landing him a new deal with Cronulla Sharks.

Nicho, a big “stress head” went from doubting himself to running around like a young kid in the backyard with no worry in the world.
He knew transitioning from Melbourne to Sydney there would be noise.
He knew his mindset was the gap between where he was and where he really wanted to get to.
Seconding guessing himself on the field and struggling to shake off errors which only led him to going inward and retreating from the performance.
This was common.
Approaching his first season at Cronulla we built the mindset foundations early before pre season.
There were two ingredients that led to a memorable first season leading the team around.
A willingness to find the edge.
Weekly discipline in catching up together
From being crippled with negative talk if he made a mistake to now smiling at himself. The momentum was shifting and his mindset was really going to new heights.
Activating that child-like care free athlete was key to getting him to his best.
Finishing the year was the Dally M's highest point scoring, getting halfback of the year & signing a huge 8 year contract wasn't a fluke or overnight success.
It was a commitment to a new type of training.
